The creators of Redfall have been shut down, and support for the game has ceased

Microsoft has announced the closure of several internal studios within Bethesda Softworks and ZeniMax Media, IGN and Bloomberg report, citing a letter from Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios.

According to the letter, the decision to close the studios was due to the need to reallocate resources and change priorities. Here's a list of the affected studios:

• Arkane Austin: the studio, developers of the Redfall game, will be closed, with some employees being transferred to other divisions. Support for Redfall will be stopped and purchasers of the game with DLC will be compensated.
• Alpha Dog Studios: the studio behind Mighty Doom will also be closed, with support for the game ending on August 7.
• Tango Gameworks: developers of Hi-Fi Rush will be shut down, with no information on future support for the game.
• Roundhouse Games: will be integrated into ZeniMax Online Studios.

The specific number of developers losing their jobs due to these measures is not specified. Nor does the letter explain why the decision was made to close Tango Gameworks, which has released several successful projects.
