Warner Bros. Discovery will spend more time developing free-to-play and mobile games
The management of Warner Bros. Discovery in the future will spend more time on creating free and mobile games rather than large AAA-titles.
This was told by the head of the organization J.B. Perrette at a meeting with investors. In his opinion, the success of Hogwarts Legacy and similar games is not guaranteed, and that quite often big-budget games remain unnoticed by the audience. On the other hand, mobile grindy games and F2P-segment require less expenses, but bring more money.
Apparently, the failed experience of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League didn't teach the developers and publisher anything. The desire to release another game-service faced with negative audience and critics, but in the future the studios are guaranteed to keep stepping on the same rake.
