Star Citizen has made its own version of the Star Wars movie

Youtuber Erad*Prime used multiplayer space simulator Star Citizen to create his own version of Star Wars. The enthusiast completely re-shot the movie “Star Wars: Episode 4 - A New Hope” in the game, using Star Citizen ships and stations as sets.

The project took the youtuber over 3,000 hours to complete. The characters don't look exactly like the original “Star Wars” characters, but there are exciting space battles, a duck instead of R2-D2, and a lightsaber buzz created by one of the project's participants.

About 50 character actors took part in the creation of the virtual version of “Star Wars”. For example, the local version of Darth Vader looks a little different, as in Star Citizen could not find a suitable analog.

Now youtuber plans to start shooting a virtual version of the movie “Star Wars: Episode 5 - The Empire Strikes Back”. Work will begin in September 2024, and the premiere is expected no earlier than 2025.
