The First Descendant attracted over 200,000 players in the first hours after release

In the first hours after release, The First Descendant attracted almost 230,000 players at a time, quickly making its way to the top of Steam. Despite mixed reviews, this third-person cooperative project is quickly gaining popularity, overtaking hits such as Team Fortress 2, GTA 5 and the recently revived Palworld in terms of player numbers.

Reviews for The First Descendant on Steam are not as enthusiastic as other 2024 hits. The rating has dropped below 50% since release, resulting in a "mixed" status. Users are complaining about performance and access issues, which isn't surprising given the hype.
