Ubisoft has officially confirmed the cancellation of the pastgen console versions of XDefiant

In late March, journalist Tom Henderson highlighted the difficulties in the development of shooter XDefiant, pointing to Ubisoft's refusal to release the game on PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

On May 2, Ubisoft San Francisco officially confirmed that XDefiant will not be released on previous generation consoles. The game was originally planned to appear on those platforms after launching on more modern devices.

As XDefiant prepares to launch on May 21, players will be treated to 14 maps, 5 game modes, 5 factions, and 24 weapon types at launch. In the first four seasons after release, the developers plan to add 4 more factions, 12 weapon types and 12 maps.

XDefiant will be available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
