Rumor: Nintendo Switch 2 will go on sale in March 2025

Nikkei Asia reports, based on sources, that Nintendo plans to release the new Switch 2 console no earlier than March 2025.

Earlier claims indicated a possible delay of the launch date from late 2024 to early next year. The reason for the delay is the company's desire to prevent a shortage of devices at launch and to ensure a rich assortment of games at the time of release. It's possible that the Switch 2's debut will shift later than the said date as well, depending on the production volumes and the readiness of the gaming novelties.

According to Nikkei Asia, the next generation Switch will get a larger display while retaining the hybrid functionality of its predecessor. Among the expected releases on the new console are Bethesda's Hi-Fi Rush and Tango Gameworks, as mentioned by insider Tom Henderson.
