The new installment of Crazy Taxi will be a multiplayer AAA action game

SEGA has published an interview with the lead developers of the new Crazy Taxi installment. During the conversation the developers did not show gameplay footage, but shared information about what to expect from the project.

It is known that the new Crazy Taxi will be a full-fledged AAA game. According to the developers, the relaunch will be a multiplayer project where many players will be able to drive around the city at the same time. The exact number of cab drivers in one session has not been disclosed yet.

The city in the new Crazy Taxi will be a large open world. A realistic urban environment awaits players, including something like an amusement park and locations inspired by the west coast of the United States.

Interestingly, back in 2022, Bloomberg sources claimed that the new Crazy Taxi will be a game-service similar to Fortnite. It seems that this information turned out to be correct.

The project is at an early stage of development. Sapporo Studio employees are working on multiplayer technologies and looking for ways to integrate them with traditional Crazy Taxi gameplay.

As of now, the Crazy Taxi relaunch has no release date or list of target platforms.
