An insider denied rumors about the development of new parts of Call of Duty: Ghosts and Advanced Warfare series

Earlier this week, insiders reported that a new Call of Duty installment from Infinity Ward's Ghosts sub-series will be released in 2026, while Sledgehammer Games will release a sequel to Advanced Warfare in 2027.

However, reputable insider and journalist Tom Henderson soon denied these rumors, calling them complete fiction. Henderson explained that it is impossible to get such information from the files of the current Call of Duty installments. He also added that the games codenamed Anvil and Devilwood do not exist.

The journalist clarified that according to the current plan, Infinity Ward will release a new Call of Duty installment in 2026, while Sledgehammer Games will release a new Call of Duty installment in 2027. Infinity Ward is rumored to be working on a new game in the Modern Warfare universe.

Treyarch Studios will release Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War in the fall of 2024, and a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, codenamed Saturn, will be released in 2025, according to Henderson.
