Revenues from The Finals did not meet the publisher's expectations

South Korean publisher Nexon has presented its financial report for the first quarter of 2024, in which it commented on the performance of the conditionally free-to-play shooter The Finals from Embark Studios.

The publisher noted that the shooter performed below expectations for the first three months of 2024. While the second season of The Finals, which launched in mid-March, temporarily increased the player base, it did not generate significant revenue.

Nexon also expressed dissatisfaction with the game's low player retention rate (retention), which demonstrates a game's ability to retain an audience over time. This is usually accomplished through deep rolling, combat passes, and other elements.

The shooter has an audience of 15,000-18,000 players on Steam. The game from Embark Studios is also available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
