The authors of Cities: Skylines 2 have promised a major overhaul of the economy in the June patch

Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order have shared details of the next update for the city-building simulator Cities: Skylines 2.

The major patch, scheduled for release between June 3 and June 19, will focus on significant changes to the in-game economy. The main goal of the update, according to the developers, is to increase the importance of managing the economy, increase the overall complexity of the game and make it clearer how the player's economic decisions affect the development of the city.

In addition, the upcoming update will bring improvements to the building system. Players will be able to place upgrades around major buildings more freely, as well as remove and move certain upgrades.

A new patch is planned for Cities: Skylines 2 in the fall, which will add free content and make edits based on user feedback. Among the changes will be updates to service buildings and vehicles, as well as a surface tool that allows for more flexibility in changing areas around buildings.

The console version of Cities: Skylines 2 is still scheduled for October, but the developers warn of a possible postponement.
