In update 1.12.1, you can only launch World of Tanks via WGC

With the release of 1.12.1, the game can only be launched via WGC, launching via third-party launchers will no longer be available (blocked by WG).
Also on release 1.12.1, we added full Steam support in WGC. Therefore, we are waiting for the WOT release from Goben between 1.12.1 and next. patch.

And for Steam, a lot of lines of code were added:
