The authors of Monster Hunter Wilds have shared fresh details about the game

Capcom unveiled a new Monster Hunter Wilds trailer at State of Play, showing off a fresh location, its inhabitants and the hunting team. The developers also revealed additional details about the project, including the voice of the main character - for the first time in the history of the series.

The plot of Monster Hunter Wilds is centered around a special research commission, sent to explore the Forbidden Lands. The squad includes the protagonist, now voiced, guild-appointed guide Alma, companion Palico and a mysterious child.

The world of the tittle is dangerous and diverse, and its biomes can change beyond recognition. The trailer shows the Forbidden Lands region, the Winding Plains. This vast region includes deserts, intricate rock formations and picturesque grasslands. According to project manager Yui Tokuda, the team aims to show how brutal and aggressive the environment can be.

Players will encounter a variety of creatures adapted to their conditions. The stocky Keratonotes, for example, form herds and rely on the males to protect them from storms thanks to sturdy growths on their backs that serve as lightning rods. Some of the most dangerous monsters in the region are the Doshagums, huge, furry creatures fiercely protective of their territory.

Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in 2025.
